DNR Contested Case Hearing Pt. 2– Madison

September 3 - September 12

The DNR Contested Case continues in Madison, Wisconsin from September 3-12 with presentations from environmental groups. During the contested case hearing, parties will argue in trial-like proceeding about a decision, bringing evidence and testimony to prove their position. Proceedings will commence at 9:00 a.m. each day of hearing. 

September 3: Public Testimony in court.

Note: Members of the public who choose to testify are open to cross-examination by Enbridge attorneys.  If you wish to testify in either Ashland or Madison, you must register at the start of the hearing on August 12. You may register in person or using the Teams link below.

Sept 4-12: Midwest Environmental Advocates (MEA) and Clean Wisconsin present their case. MEA is a coalition including Sierra Club, 350 Wisconsin and League of Women Voters of Wisconsin.

More information on the contested case:  On Nov. 14, 2024, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (Department) issued Permit #IP-NO-2020-2-N00471 to Enbridge Energy, LP (Enbridge). On Dec. 12, 2024, the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, by its attorneys, Earthjustice, and 350 Wisconsin, League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, and Sierra Club, by their attorneys Midwest Environmental Advocates and Clean Wisconsin, filed Petitions for a Contested Case Hearing with the DNR pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§ 227.42, 30.209, and 281.36(3q).
