This website is an invitation to help monitor construction activities and environmental impacts along the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline. Line 5 is roughly 72 years old, 22 years past its intended lifespan. Community monitoring has been an important tool for land and water defense struggles. Most of the incidents along the existing Line 5 pipeline have been found and reported by people just like you. Thank you for working to protect the water and ecosystems for generations to come!
Here you can find interactive maps of the proposed Line 5 re-route in Wisconsin and of its path under the Mackinac Straits in Michigan. The maps can be used on your desktop and phone, and are sourced from public documents compiled through the Environmental Impact Statement regulatory process.
You can find Monitoring 101 guides to support safe and effective community monitoring activities. For monitoring the Wisconsin reroute, you can submit your observations and view all community observations submitted so far. We hope to develop these for Michigan portion of Line 5 as well.
Additionally, find an overview of Line 5, as well as legal documents, permits and educational materials under the “About” tab of this site.
