Instead\, they decided to move forward towards creating an Ordinance so that everything was/is transparent when it comes to the utilization of Law Enforcement by private entities. Bayfield also turned down Enbridge paying for Law Enforcement safety equipment and decided the county should pay for protective gear themselves. Law Enforcement shows old equipment as their sales pitch.

Ashland and Iron County both passed agreements in February. There’s an effort in Ashland to have a re-vote. Bayfield County is considering a modified version after voting no in February. There is a conflict of interest with teh Sheriff Departments serving to protect the Bad River Band and then having a cooperative agreement with Enbridge. The priority needs to be serving and building trust within our local communities\, not protecting a Canadian company.

DESCRIPTION:City of Ashland selling water to Enbridge\nEnbridge has approached the City of Ashalnd Public Works Committee about selling water to Enbridge for the construction of the Line 5 reroute project. Bad River is requesting healing between neighbors yet Ashland appears to be doing the opposite by taking action in standing with Enbridge instead of with Bad River.
